Melvin Gordon, the rookie fresh out of Wisconsin, is set for a historic year. Gordon, who has a similar build to that of Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles, has the perfect body for an NFL pro-bowler. He is fast, yet quite strong, a body-type that has been proven to be ideal in the modern-era. Gordon also led the NCAA last year in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and rushing yards per game, all stats that show Gordon's readiness for the NFL field. Many have recently questioned the amount of carries that Gordon will receive considering that he is stepping into a crowded backfield with touchdown vulture Danny Woodhead, and skilled RB Brandon Oliver. With that, one can still ensure that Gordon will receive the majority of the carries, including eventually, goal-line carries. Gordon also has an above-average offensive line, and a great quarterback in Philip Rivers, who will be able to spread the defense tremendously. Many are skeptical about Gordon especially after a mediocre performance in Dallas, not even averaging two yards per carry. With that being said, one should also realize and take into account that Gordon is a rookie and will have to adjust to the talent before we see his full potential. Because of this, many would urge that a fantasy football manager not expect 100 yards and 3 touchdowns after week one, be it that Gordon will have to play with his first new team in four years. Still, l expect great things from Melvin who can likely break 1,100 yards and even 10 touchdowns.

Thanks, The Bold Prediction Fantasy Crew The Jets just traded for Percy Harvin. With Harvin gone, Seattle's #1 wide receiver is Doug Baldwin. If you need help at receiver, Baldwin is not a bad option!
New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
Prediction - Patriots Patriots have been on a role and everything has connected for them. The Jets are not the best team, so they should have no problem winning this one. However, the Jets didn't look bad last week excluding that final pick 6 thrown by who else but Geno Smith. The Jets will do adequate, but the Patriots are going to have the win on Thursday night. (27-17 Patriots) Kicker: 1) Steven Gostkowski vs Jets 2) Dan Bailey vs Giants 3) Justin Tucker vs Falcons 4) Steven Hauschka vs Rams 5) Nick Novak vs Chiefs 6) Phil Dawson vs Broncos 7) Adam Vinatieri vs Bengals 8) Mason Crosby vs Panthers 9) Chandler Catanzaro vs Raiders 10) Matt Bryant vs Ravens 1) Julius Thomas vs 49ers 2) Greg Olsen vs Packers 3) Rob Gronkowski vs Jets 4) Jordan Cameron vs Jaguars 5) Martellus Bennett vs Dolphins 6) Jordan Reed vs Titans 7) Delanie Walker vs Redskins 8) Antonio Gates vs Chiefs 9) Larry Donnell vs Cowboys 10) Travis Kelce vs Chargers 1) Jordy Nelson vs Panthers 2) Antonio Brown vs Texans 3) Demaryius Thomas vs 49ers 4) Dez Bryant vs Giants 5) Julio Jones vs Ravens 6) Randall Cobb vs Panthers 7) Alshon Jeffery vs Dolphins 8) Brandon Marshall vs Dolphins 9) Steve Smith vs Falcons 10) TY Hilton vs Bengals 1) Demarco Murray vs Giants 2) Arian Foster vs Steelers 3) Matt Forte vs Dolphins 4) Jamaal Charles vs Chargers 5) Giovanni Bernard vs Colts 6) Marshawn Lynch vs Rams 7) Le'Veon Bell vs Texans 8) Andre Ellington vs Raiders 9) Ben Tate vs Jaguars 10) Eddie Lacy vs Panthers 1) Aaron Rodgers vs Panthers 2) Andrew Luck vs Bengals 3) Peyton Manning vs 49ers 4) Philip Rivers vs Chiefs 5) Tom Brady vs Jets 6) Jay Cutler vs Dolphins 7) Drew Brees vs Lions 8) Cam Newton vs Packers 9) Russell Wilson vs Rams 10) Tony Romo vs Giants ADDS: Quarterback: 1) Joe Flacco - Flacco went crazy posting 5 touchdowns against Tampa Bay. Even though this was an easy matchup, Flacco should post respectable numbers each week if you need someone to rely on. |
